Stephen Potts B.Mus  was educated at Klng's School Rochester, where he was both cathedral chorister and organ scholar, and at Nottingham and Liverpool Universities. Since graduating he has held a wide range  of  appointments  in  educational establishments both at home and abroad. These have ranged from being a Director of Music in Comprehensive and Public schools, as a Lecturer in a  Teachers  Training  College  and  at  the Cambridgeshire College of Arts, as Head of Sixth form at the Purcell School of Music and, for the ten years 1988-1998, as Director of Music at the Yehudi Menuhin School. Currently he is Director of Kronberg Academy Masters

During his teaching career Stephen has been responsible for pupils being represented as the winners, or amongst the finalists, in nearly all major competitions open to pupils of school age. These include the Wieniawski, Sarasate, Menuhin, Shell London Symphony Orchestra, Audi, BBC Young Musician, Royal Overseas League, Parikian, Suggia, Ida Carroll, Cambridge Symposium etc.). Over the years he has also submitted a large number of pupils for GCSE and A-level examinations with the majority achieving A or A* grades.

From his early years as student conductor of the BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra, Stephen has always taken a keen interest in conducting and directing all sorts of music groups from wind bands, string ensembles and orchestras to opera and a broad range of choral activity. He is still currently active as an organist in London, is an adjudicator for various Festivals and Competitions, and enjoys all kinds of music making drawn from many different styles and genre.
